About the Artist

Visionary and Playwright, Cin Martinez uses the stage to transport her audience into places unfamiliar, yet relatable and identifiable. She has a knack for developing and centering underrepresented characters in her stories. “Negri” for instance, an Afro-Latina character form her most recent work, Pegao, lead to conversations around ownership of heritage and colorism within Latinidad. 

Constantly inspired by real life events that shaped her and her community, she continues to create worlds to invite us into and initiate necessary conversations. Currently, she’s drafting an insightful existential drama, Moonlighters that challenges limitations, giving breadth, flesh, and credence to the unseen. Her aim is to produce shows globally, lend her talents to writer’s rooms, and stretch her chops as an actress for works created by playwrights she admires.
